The HPO is always happy to accept applications for new volunteers. From concert nights to events, community-based initiatives and more, there are a variety of opportunities for varying interests, skill sets, and levels of time commitment.
Mainstage Concerts: Join us on concert nights at FirstOntario Concert Hall to help ensure a smooth evening for all who attend.
Daytime Events: Contribute to student and family concerts, talks, and other performances and events in the morning or afternoon.
Seniors Connect Program: Join our team of volunteers creating a safe and inclusive environment on concerts nights for older adults at risk of social isolation.
In the office: Assist with mailing campaigns and other administrative duties.
Special events: Assist with fundraisers, donor recognition activities, or performances in the community.
Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteers receive a pair of complimentary tickets to one concert per season and are invited to an annual Volunteer Appreciation social with refreshments. Volunteers at concerts also have the opportunity to enjoy some or all of the performance. Meet new people, support orchestral music in Hamilton, and gain a behind-the-scenes look at how an orchestra is run.
How to Apply
Please write to Patron Services Manager Heather Hollis with the subject line “Volunteer with the HPO” and outline your volunteer interests. We will be in touch to arrange an informal interview and discuss available opportunities. New volunteers should be prepared to provide a police background check.
