Working with our staff team, interns with the HPO contribute to a premier arts organization and gain hands-on experience in the arts and culture sector. Each season, we typically host 2-4 interns and/or co-op students.
Types of Internships and Co-Ops
Marketing and Communications
Contribute to the day-to-day activities of our marketing and communications team, assisting in the production of marketing materials, corporate communications, digital communications, audience development activities, and market research. Marketing interns also assist in event preparation and attend concerts and community events.
Events interns primarily assist in the planning and preparation for concerts, special events, and community activities with our Development and Events Associate and alongside our team of volunteers. Gain an understanding of how an orchestra functions, as well as the necessary steps and timeline for planning large-scale events.
In recent years, we have hosted students from the following institutions and programs:
- Humber College, Arts Administration and Cultural Management
- Mohawk College, Public Relations
- Mohawk College, Community Integration through Cooperative Education
- Glendale Secondary School
- Sherwood Secondary School
- Westmount Secondary School
