The HPYO is excited to announce the Tune Up! Summer Intensive, a special three-day program for youth musicians running from August 16 to 18 at McMaster University.

Musicians of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra coach sectional rehearsals and audition preparation workshops to support participants’ individual learning. Dr. Alex Cannon serves as guest conductor for full orchestra rehearsals and a culminating concert at McMaster University’s L.R. Wilson Hall. Other program activities include musician-focused wellness sessions and team activities.

“We are thrilled to offer past and prospective HPYO musicians the opportunity to connect this summer through Tune Up!,” said HPO Executive Director Kim Varian. “This is a great chance for youth musicians to get ready for fall auditions and to learn what the HPYO is all about.”

No auditions are required to participate. Participating musicians should have at least three years of experience playing with an orchestra. Online registration opens June 18 and closes August 2. Program tuition is $225 +HST.
