Building on the natural elements and earthly theme of its 26-27 Season, Hamilton Phil is pleased to announce a concert that looks to the stars. Bringing the excitement of outer space to FirstOntario Concert Hall, Symphony in Space: The Ultimate Sci-Fi Concert takes place on October 24, 2026, at 7:30PM. Led by Canadian Conductor Evan Mitchell, this high-energy performance brings the most unforgettable science fiction soundtracks to life on stage; including those from Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, E.T., Aliens, Interstellar, Tron, and Back to the Future.

Perfect for film fans, families, and anyone who loves epic orchestral soundtracks, this concert celebrates the symphonic scores that have defined science fiction movies. Mitchell himself is a lifelong fan of science fiction, and together with Hamilton Phil, he champions the incredible array of sci-fi music on screen over the ages.

“If you’ve never been to an orchestra concert before, this is the perfect ‘first-time’ experience,” says Mitchell. “You’ll hear the music you love, brought to life right in front of you by dozens of spectacular artists all working in perfect sync, it’s like magic. Nothing can replicate the live orchestra experience; you really have to be there to get it.”

For fans who want to dive deeper into the intergalactic world of music, Talk & Tea: At the Movies happens on October 23 and gives audiences an intimate, in-depth look into the musical world of film. They’ll learn how composers such as John Williams and Hans Zimmer became masters. Beyond that, Hamilton Phil Composer Advisor and Ambassador, Abigail Richardson-Schulte, shares the evolution of the film business and how it’s impacted the type of music being written and the resulting expectations from composers. Talk & Tea: At the Movies includes a 15- minute drop in at rehearsal.
