Spring is in the air at the HPO this month as natural local landscapes grace the screens at FirstOntario Concert Hall during Sibelius Seven. Experience the HPO in intimate and engaging community events throughout the region this month.

HAMILTON, ON – HPO events kick off at the Hamilton Public Library. On Friday, March 3 at 12pm, Principal Trumpet Michael Fedyshyn and pianist Monique De Margerie perform a one-hour concert.

On Wednesday, March 8 at 7:30pm, HPO heads to Dundas as part of the Gallery Series. Carnegie Gallery is the location for this free, stimulating concert featuring our critically-acclaimed Harp-Flute Duo Leslie Newman and Erica Goodman.

On Saturday, March 11 at 7:30pm, the HPO presents Sibelius Seven at the FirstOntario Concert Hall. Showcasing the profound and pensive works of 20th Century composers, this mainstage concert also celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Bruce Trail Conservancy and showcases stunning images which spotlight natural landscapes of our community.

On Thursday, March 30 at 7:30pm, join our HPO Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte at Dundas Museum and Archives for an insightful music appreciation lecture, Music for a Cause presents stories and music of composers who were either inspired or coerced by military leaders; from Beethoven and Napoleon to Shostakovich and Stain.
