HPO Transports Audiences to the Halls of Paris for Ravel & Stravinsky

HAMILTON, ON – On April 27 at 7:30pm at FirstOntario Concert Hall, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra presents Ravel & Stravinsky. Guest Conductor Nathan Brock leads the orchestra in an elegant evening of works and dances influenced by the style of Paris. Ravel’s Tombeau de Couperin explores Baroque dances through an impressionist lens and the Pulcinella Suite concludes this concert by playfully bringing the music to life through dance. This final piece features dancers from Hamilton Academy of Performing Arts as guest artists.

Our own Concertmaster Stephen Sitarski performs Prokofiev’s witty and iconic Violin Concerto. Stephen is currently the concertmaster of both the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and Esprit Orchestra. He previously served as concertmaster of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony for 15 seasons. As a regular performer with Arraymusic, Soundstreams, Toronto’s New Music Concerts and the Art of Time Ensemble, he has traveled across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. In 2017, he toured with Canadian pop icon Steven Page across the U.S.
