CBC CLASSICAL ROAD TO THE JUNOS, JANUARY 25, 2026 AT 3 PM
HAMILTON, ON, January 15, 2026 — In anticipation of the 2026 Juno Awards happening in Hamilton, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra (HPO) partners with CBC Music to showcase part of the city’s classical music scene. Paolo Pietropaolo hosts this concert, which is being recorded for future broadcast on CBC Music’s In Concert on the day of the 2026 Juno Awards.
HPO musicians Stephen Sitarski, concertmaster and Leana Rutt, principal cello, are joined by Emma Rush, guitar and pianist Shoshana Telner for a dynamic chamber program highlighting the vibrancy of Canadian music, with a special focus on composers and artists connected to Hamilton. Works by Kevin Lau, Alexina Louie, Abigail Richardson-Schulte, Dale Kavanagh, and Marjan Mozetich anchor the program, showcasing the breadth of contemporary Canadian voices, from luminous lyricism and rhythmic energy to moments of deep reflection and stillness. Chamber works by beloved historical composers J.S. Bach and Chopin round out this performance.
This performance is part of the CBC Music’s concert series Road to the Junos, highlighting Hamiltonian musicians and works at venues throughout the city ahead of the Juno Awards. The concert is being recorded for future broadcast on CBC Music’s In Concert. Listeners can tune into the recording on the day of the Junos, Sunday, March 29, at 94.1FM, online at cbc.ca/listen, or by using the CBC Listen app.
Tickets for this performance are $15 and seating is general admission.
