FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HAMILTON, ON—The HPO is pleased to announce that community partner, CF Lime Ridge will support 12 Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (HPYO) musicians with full scholarships in their 19-20 Season. These scholarships support the talents of young musicians as they pursue their passion for music and live performance.

CF Lime Ridge’s support provides additional opportunities for HPYO musicians to work closely with HPO professional musicians as coaches throughout their season. Students will also have the opportunity to prepare chamber music repertoire for side-by-side performances with HPO musicians. These chamber music performances will deepen students’ music skills and offer an extraordinary new performance opportunity. HPYO will take these chamber performances to CF Lime Ridge Mall during the orchestra season.

General Manager Liem Vu expresses his passion for this project, “it’s take everyone to build vibrant communities and CF Lime Ridge is thrilled to support Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (HPYO) with full scholarships for 12 deserving musicians. As a dedicated member of the Hamilton community, we’re delighted to empower and inspire youth in the city and surrounding region through the wonderful work of the HPO and HPYO.”

The Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra has had a significant impact on the region’s young musicians for the past fifty years. Admission into the HPYO is by audition only and the orchestra consists of 65 to 90 young musicians ranging in age from 12 to 24. In addition to rehearsing challenging orchestral repertoire under the direction of conductor Colin Clarke, musicians receive regular coaching and mentoring from the world-class professional musicians of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.

Information on the scholarship application process will be available following the completion of auditions in September 2019. For more information on HPYO visit hpyo.com
