Biography
Neha Mahajan is a Sitar performer from the Beenkar Gharana, a lineage connected to the
instrumentation technique of the ancient Been and Rabab instruments, which emphasizes
depth of tone, meditative development and precision in melodic articulation.
She was initiated into music by her father Shri Vidur Mahajan, a Sitar performer and educator, and later continued her training in music with Ustad Zunain Khan, the primary exponent of Jafferkhani Sitar Style in the Beenkar Gharana.
She is featured on Ricky Martin’s Pausa, a Latin Grammy–winning and Grammynominated album and was awarded the Young Sitarist Award by Ganvardhan, Pune (India) in 2025. With a Master’s in Philosophy, Neha invites audiences to explore the beauty, emotion, and timeless resonance of Raga Music.
