Biography

Soprano Meredith Hall delights audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with her ‘lustrous sound and fluent legato’ (San Francisco Chronicle). She has appeared frequently with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra (San Francisco), Tafelmusik of Toronto, Apollo’s Fire, Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque and The Toronto Symphony. 

Meredith Hall’s opera credits include the title role in Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea for Houston Grand Opera, and leading roles with the Göttingen Handel Festival, the Paris Opera Comique and the Utrecht Early Music Festival. Her numerous performances with Opera Atelier of Toronto include Susanna in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni and Pamina in The Magic Flute. She has recorded for Deutsche Grammophon/Archiv, Philips, ATMA, Naxos, CBC Records and Dorian, with leading early-music ensembles such as Les Musiciens du Louvre, Le Concert Spirituel, the Musicians of the Globe Theatre, the Toronto Consort, Tafelmusik, Apollo’s Fire (Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo) and Ensemble La Nef (three discs of Scottish and Celtic music).
