Mary has been a member of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra for over 30 years. She is a member of the Stratford Festival Orchestra, playing musicals, fanfares, recorded music for live plays, and, the occasional on-stage musician role. She also plays as a regular extra with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and can be heard each night on the CTV News themes and also on the Blue Jays Baseball themes.
Mary studied trumpet performance at the University of Toronto, in the Royal Conservatory’s Orchestral Training Program and in the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.
Away from the horn, Mary rides a horse named Bacardi, is crazy about cooking good food and making her backyard garden her little city oasis. Her husband Larry also plays trumpet and her two grown children are both pursuing careers in the performing arts.
