The Performance

Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra presents Bizet’s Carmen in Concert. Audiences will experience this iconic opera in a vivid semi-staged performance with Music Director James Kahane. From the sultry allure of the Habanera to the swagger of the Toreador Song, every scene pulses with rhythmic vitality and cinematic intensity. Rising stars from the Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio, one of Europe’s most prestigious opera training programs, lend their voices and artistry to this gripping tale of freedom, obsession and jealousy.

Set in sun-drenched Seville, Carmen follows the fiercely independent title character and the soldier Don José as desire spirals toward tragedy. In this semi-staged format, audiences experience the power of grand opera with the intimacy and immediacy of concert performance, where every glance, gesture and orchestral flourish heightens the drama. Seductive, dramatic and unforgettable, Carmen promises an evening of sweeping melodies and high-stakes storytelling with your Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.
