Mozart’s Requiem

The Performance

Experience the extraordinary power and beauty of Mozart’s Requiem, one of the most iconic and deeply moving pieces of music. Shrouded in mystery and left unfinished at the time of Mozart’s death, this monumental masterpiece explores themes of life, death, grief and hope through soaring melodies, dramatic orchestration and breathtaking choral passages.

The program also features J.S. Bach’s Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied, a vibrant and uplifting choral gem showcasing the brilliance of Bach’s vocal writing. Filled with intricate harmonies and energetic rhythms, this celebrated motet offers a striking contrast to the emotional intensity of Mozart’s Requiem.

The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bach Elgar Choir come together for this special performance, continuing a longstanding musical partnership that has enriched Hamilton’s cultural community for generations.
