Explore volunteer opportunities at the HPO. From concert nights to events, community-based initiatives and more, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities at the HPO for varying interests, skill sets, and levels of time commitment.
Seniors Connect Program: Join our team of volunteers creating a safe and inclusive environment on concert nights for older adults at risk of social isolation. Volunteer roles include conversation facilitation and support for those with mobility issues.
Mainstage Concerts: Join us on concert nights at FirstOntario Concert Hall to help ensure a smooth evening for all who attend. Volunteer roles include lobby set up support and greeting audience members as they arrive.
Daytime Events: Contribute to student and family concerts, talks, and other performances and events in the morning or afternoon.
Special events: Assist with fundraisers, donor recognition activities, or performances in the community.
Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteers receive a pair of complimentary tickets to one concert per season and are invited to an annual Volunteer Appreciation social with refreshments. Volunteers at concerts also have the opportunity to enjoy some or all of the performance. Meet new people, support orchestral music in Hamilton, and gain a behind-the-scenes look at how an orchestra is run.

We will be in touch to arrange an informal interview and discuss available opportunities. New volunteers should be prepared to provide aĀ police background check.Ā
