Join HPO’s dynamic and creative team! HPO’s Marketing and Communications Manager leads all marketing and communication activities to strengthen HPO’s brand and increase awareness of and engagement in HPO’s performances, programs and events. 

 
About the HPO 

The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra has been an integral part of the community for over a century, tracing its roots back to the 1880s when the first orchestral ensemble was formed in Hamilton. Today, the HPO is one of the finest regional, professional orchestras in Canada and a leader in Hamilton’s robust arts community. 

Our programs are created to energize, move and inspire our diverse community. With an average of ten mainstage concert weeks, a thriving youth orchestra program and more than sixty outreach and education programs in the community each season, the HPO is committed to its mission to enrich the wellbeing of the greater Hamilton region by engaging, educating and inspiring the community through outstanding professional orchestral music.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, administrative and artistic teams, the Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the marketing and communication strategies for the HPO. This dynamic role involves creating and measuring marketing strategy, developing marketing partnerships and impacting the patron experience through engagement.  

About You 

We are seeking a creative-minded individual with a passion for the arts and strong knowledge of marketing and communications principles. A few key components of your experience should include; 

  • Marketing or Communications qualification or similar  
  • Minimum four years of related work experience 
  • Knowledge of advertising and marketing disciplines including marketing systems, ticketing, and subscription-based sales and content marketing 
  • Understanding of digital media platforms and electronic project management tools 
  • Superb organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines 
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
