The Performance
Schubert’s melodies create an uplifting tone for this concert featuring Guest Soprano Alexandra Smither performing the composer’s beloved Ave Maria. Smither also joins the orchestra for contemporary Canadian composer Zosha di Castri’s Dear Life, based on the short story of the same name by Alice Munro. Beethoven’s Egmont Overture brings drama while Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 presents heavenly melodies for an inspiring conclusion.
