Support Music Education

  • We believe that our children thrive on music.
  • We believe that reaching young audiences is of paramount importance.
  • We believe that providing children with a memorable artistic experience encourages creative development and builds future audiences.

You can help support our Music Education Programs in a variety of ways.

Sponsor a Coaching Program

Professional players of the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra act as coaches for rehearsals and workshops of music students in schools and other groups. Your sponsorship dollars help to cover the costs of this coaching which may also include private lessons for these young music students.

Sponsor a Mentoring Program

Each year the HPO invites promising young students to take part in formal rehearsals and an actual performance in the Great Hall of Hamilton Place. Designated players are appointed as Mentors for these students during the time they prepare for their performance with the Orchestra. The professional players privately coach and assist young players during the preparation period leading up to the concert, building confidence and musical ability to the requisite level.

Sponsor our Musicians in the Classroom Program

Your sponsorship helps carry the cost of this program. The HPO works with school teachers by providing soloists or a small ensemble of players for area schools by request. The program is geared to students at any level interested in music. Students enjoy a short performance or demonstration and may also engage the musician(s) in a question and answer dialogue. This personal contact encourages a better understanding of the human element in music making. It may also inspire a choice to pursue music seriously as a hobby or career. Regardless, it instills a fresh perspective on music and its place in the world.

Sponsor Open Rehearsals for Students

A visit to HPO rehearsals is a great opportunity for young people (our future audience) to see musicians at work. Your sponsorship dollars help to cover the cost of these open rehearsal visits. Approximately 100-150 children from area schools are invited to attend each open rehearsal.
